Deep Sea Fishing Charters
Offshore reef & wreck fishing, 30–40 miles into the Gulf
Offshore from St. Pete
Real Gulf fishing, smooth ride out
Offshore reef & wreck fishing, 30–40 miles into the Gulf
On Florida's Gulf coast, the good offshore fishing is 30 to 40 miles out, at reefs and wrecks holding snapper, grouper, kingfish, and cobia. It's a real run to get there, and that's the whole reason we run a 32 ft World Cat. Two hulls instead of one means the ride out is smooth instead of brutal. You get to the fish fast, and you actually enjoy the trip out.

Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is this really deep sea fishing? Can you do that from St. Pete?
Yes, with one honest detail worth knowing. Florida's Gulf coast sits on a wide, shallow shelf, so the bottom drops off slowly as you head west. "Deep sea" here doesn't mean chasing marlin a hundred miles offshore. It means running 30 to 40 miles out to the reefs, ledges, and wrecks in 60 to 130 feet of water, where the snapper, grouper, amberjack, kingfish, and cobia live. That's the good fishing, and it's exactly what Phat Kat is permitted and built for.
It's also a real run to get there, which is the whole reason we run a catamaran. Most boats pound you the entire way out and leave you worn down before the first line hits the water. Phat Kat's twin hulls cut through the chop instead of slamming into it, so you show up to the grounds ready to fish, not ready to sit down.
Real offshore fishing, real Gulf species, federally permitted to take you there. Just without the bruises.

Omg! I just went out last night on a dolphin sunset tour. What an amazing and incredible experience. Captain Cuda AKA Barrie, was very highly knowledgeable about the waters, we so many dolphins and it was so exciting seeing them right up behind the boat surfing! WOW!! I highly recommend Captain Cuda Charters when in Saint Pete/Tampa Bay Area.

Barry and Tobey were amazing ! Had a family day out on the water , we will definitely be back again
Excellent captain! We had a great time!
Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. This was a family day for us, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The boat was gorgeous, fully equipped, and spotless — with coolers already filled with ice so we could jump right in and enjoy our time together. Captain Barrie was outstanding — professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly personable. He made everyone feel comfortable, took us on an unforgettable dolphin tour, and truly went above and beyond to make the day special. It was even better than we could have expected. One of the best days we’ve had on the water — we can’t wait to book again!
I went fishing on Charters Tampa Bay with Captain Barry and it was a great day. Went to target Red Snapper and he put us on them right away. Everyone on the boat limited red snapper and the boat limited African Pompano, others caught Scamp Grouper and Mangrove Snapper too. We caught some huge gag grouper and red grouper, but the season was closed for them. This was my first time on a Cat boat and the ride was smooth. I highly recommend this charter.
